Senior Software Testing Engineer - March 2004 to September 2008

Bentley delivers solutions for the entire lifecycle of the infrastructure asset, tailored to the needs of the various professions—the engineers, architects, planners, contractors, fabricators, IT managers, operators and maintenance engineers—who will work on and work with that asset over its lifetime.
I remained part of the testing department as a software testing engineer for numerous software applications. The main accomplishments during my tenure at Bentley can be summarised as below:

- Lead software testing activities for AutoPLANT Structural

- Proposed numerous
enhancements for the software under test and verified the desired
functionality upon implementation

knowledge and exposure to internal functionality of structural
design, plant design, computer aided modeling, project navigation
and review software products
- Conducted several
in-house training sessions
- Remained active member of department’s automation team
Structural Design Engineer - January 2004 to March 2004
Halcrow specialises in the provision of planning, design and management services for infrastructure development worldwide. With interests in transportation, water, maritime and property, the company is undertaking commissions in over 70 countries from a network of more than 90 offices. During my stay at Halcrow, I was part of team working on shop drawings creation from structural drawings provided by ADPi and Dar Al-Handasah for Dubai International Airport Extension project. My main responsibilities included:
- Generating detailed shop drawings for slabs and columns from structural drawings
- All structural detail drawings supervised by me were approved without any revision and forwarded to contractor AL Naboodah and Laing O’Rourke
- The shop drawings generated complied with ACI 318-02 and BS 4466-89 code provisions
- Supervised detailing tasks using Multi Rebar and Steel Pac
- Preliminary analysis and requirement gathering for resurgence of foundation stability of an ancient monument in Belgium
Structural Design Engineer - January 2003 to December 2003
T & S Design Consultants is a civil engineering/architectural design and project management consultancy firm established in mid 2002. The firm has its head office at Rawalpindi with liaison offices at Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan. This enterprising firm aims at providing quality consultancy in Structural, Civil and Architectural engineering and Construction/Project Management at the best possible rates, hence the motto "Affordable Solutions Through Innovations".
My theoretical knowledge that I gained during my civil engineering was put to test during my stay at T & S Design Consultants. My main accomplishments while being at the company are listed below:
- Successfully completed structural analysis and design of a variety of structures including multi-story residential, office and commercial buildings, earth retaining structures and water retaining structures
- Carried out the structural analysis and design of the structures using SAP and STAAD
- The foundation design for the structures was performed using SAFE
- Manual design using ACI 318-02 code provisions was also carried out for relatively simple structures
- Performed wind analysis for a couple of high rise towers reaching a height of 130 feet
- Proposed and performed analysis and design of extension of existing building without effecting the members of existing building
- Supervised drafting of all related CAD drawings and 3D models for the projects
- Conducted numerous training sessions for CAD operators on AutoCAD and several trainings on analysis and design applications for engineers
- Coordinated with clients and contractors for the assigned projects
